| Beschrijving keerzijde | A boldly rendered left-facing bust portrait of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin dominates the field, depicted wearing his characteristic flat cap, with finely engraved details on his goatee, moustache, and facial features rendered in a strong relief style. The bust is shown from the shoulders upward and occupies the majority of the coin's field. The legend VLADIMIR ILICH LENIN curves along the right periphery in an upward arc. The date 2002 appears in the lower left field, accompanied by a small mint mark below. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Cuba has issued commemorative peso coinage in copper-nickel since the 1970s, much of it produced for export and collector sale rather than domestic circulation — hard currency was the point, not pocket change. This Lenin issue fits that pattern precisely: struck for foreign numismatic markets at a moment when the Cuban economy was still grinding through the "Special Period" austerity that followed Soviet collapse.
Lenin himself died in 1924, leaving no successor formally designated.
