Reverse description The reverse features a three-quarter portrait of Pope John Paul II facing left, rendered in fine relief, wearing his papal vestments and pectoral cross. To the left of the papal effigy, a detailed representation of the Cathedral of Havana (Catedral de San Cristóbal de la Habana) is depicted, showing its characteristic baroque facade and twin bell towers. The curved legend VISITA DE SU SANTIDAD JUAN PABLO II arcs around the upper field, with the dates 21-25 de Enero de 1998 inscribed below it. The inscription CATEDRAL DE LA HABANA appears to the lower left, and the year 1998 is placed in the lower exergue, accompanied by a small mint mark.
