Additional information

Sint Maarten has no indigenous currency of its own — the island uses the Netherlands Antillean guilder — which makes this "1 Peso" issue a fiction by design, a privately produced novelty struck for the tourist and collector trade rather than any governmental monetary authority. The Stegosaurus theme has no connection to the island's geology or history; the Caribbean basin has yielded no significant dinosaur fossil record whatsoever.
