Obverse description Conjoined busts of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Philippine Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon in left-facing profile, rendered in high relief with Roosevelt positioned slightly behind Quezon in the field. The circumferential legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES arcs around the upper periphery, interrupted at the apex by the commemorative date NOV. 15 1935 marking the inauguration of the Philippine Commonwealth. The denomination ONE PESO appears in the lower segment of the legend, completing the border inscription.
