| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse carries the bank title EL BANCO ARGENTINO in a bold arc across the upper portion, flanked by numeral 1 counters at each corner. A central vignette presents a pastoral rural scene with cattle and horses at pasture, set against an open landscape. At lower left, a rhea (ñandú) vignette appears as a secondary motif, while the denomination UN PESO is printed in large letterpress text across the centre, with manuscript payment text and a handwritten signature running below. |

| Opmerkingen |
The Banco Argentino operated out of Paraná, capital of Entre Ríos province, during a brief and turbulent window of Argentine provincial banking. The 1873 date places this note squarely within the chaotic period of free banking that preceded Argentina's 1890s financial collapse — provincial banks issued their own currency with varying degrees of reserve backing, and many folded within years of opening. The Banco Argentino was no exception.
The denomination in Pesos Plata Boliviana rather than Pesos Fuertes reflects the monetary patchwork of the Río de la Plata region, where Bolivian silver coinage remained a practical unit of account in the interior provinces long after Buenos Aires had moved on.
