| Obverse description | Central field features the traditional Mexican national arms in an earlier heraldic style: an eagle displayed, perched on a nopal cactus growing from a rock amid water, devouring a serpent, with an olive branch and oak branch flanking the base. The encircling legend reads 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS' along the upper periphery. The rim is decorated with a beaded border. The overall composition reflects the older coat of arms design used on Mexican coinage prior to the modernized versions. |
