Honduras struck no regular coinage of its own in 1862 — the country relied heavily on foreign and colonial-era silver circulating by weight. This bronze pattern was produced at the Tegucigalpa mint as a proposed one-peso denomination that never entered production. The Casa Nacional de la Moneda had only recently been reestablished, and the infrastructure for sustained domestic coinage remained shaky throughout the 1860s.
KM#Pn1 is the sole pattern recorded for this issuer and year, with surviving examples numbering in the single digits.
