Obverse description Central device depicts the Honduran provisional coat of arms enclosed within a beaded inner circle: a triangle containing a volcanic mountain rising between two flanking castles above stylized waves, with radiating sun rays emanating from the peak. A crowned cartouche surmounts the triangle at its apex. Flanking the inner circle at the three and nine o'clock positions are decorative floral sprigs. The circumferential legend reads MONEDA PROVISIONAL DEL ESTADO DE HONDURAS, separated by a small floral ornament, all contained within a boldly reeded outer border.
