Obverse description The central disc features a faithful reproduction of the obverse design of Argentina's first national coin (KM#9, dated 1813), depicting the Pillars of Hercules with the legend REPUBLICA ARGENTINA in the outer ring above and PRIMERA MONEDA PATRIA below. The original mintmark and assayer designations PTS·J·8S appear within the central motif, preserving the historical inscription EN UNION Y LIBERTAD. The two concentric zones — inner bimetallic centre and outer ring — clearly delineate the pattern's modern bimetallic format from the archaic design it commemorates.
