Argentina's mid-1970s coinage program was repeatedly disrupted by political instability — Isabel Perón's government was overthrown by military coup in March 1976, leaving several pattern and transitional issues from 1975 in limbo. This double laurel sprig variant was never adopted for circulation, with the standard 1975 1 Peso proceeding with a different reverse treatment. Pattern pieces of this type are poorly documented in major references; CJ#96 represents one of the few systematic attempts to catalog the series.
