| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed note with a vignette portrait of Apolinario Mabini in three-quarter view at left centre, set within an oval frame against a green guilloche underprint with radiating sunburst pattern. The denomination numeral "1" appears in ornate panels at all four corners, with the issuing authority title "PHILIPPINE ISLANDS" arched across the upper field in bold serif lettering and "ONE PESO" below.
