正面描述 The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a key and two rocks between two promontories in the lower segment, a royal palm tree in the upper left, and alternating blue and white stripes in the upper right. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap above a rising sun, flanked by laurel and oak branches tied with a ribbon. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1 PESO appears in the lower field. Two five-pointed stars flank the denomination on either side.

附加信息

Cuba's 1983 Olympic sports series was produced in both copper-nickel for circulation and .999 silver for the collector market, with the same designs struck across both compositions simultaneously. The copper-nickel pieces were nominally legal tender but rarely saw actual commerce — they moved almost entirely through state-run numismatic export channels, generating hard currency at a premium far above face value, which was the practical point of the series.

The 1984 Los Angeles Games were ultimately boycotted by Cuba, along with the broader Soviet-bloc contingent.
