Obverse description Central device depicts the upper portion of the Cuban coat of arms, featuring a radiant rising sun over the sea with a key in the foreground. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs across the upper field, while the national motto PATRIA Y LIBERTAD curves along the lower periphery.
