备注

Banco J. Benites é Hijo was a private provincial bank operating in Argentina during the brief but chaotic experiment with free banking that followed the 1862 financial reorganization. Provincial banks of this period issued their own notes with minimal federal oversight, and many — including Benites — operated on thin reserves and shorter institutional lives than their printed paper would suggest.

PS1561 is among the scarcer Argentine provincial private issues of the 1860s. Whether the bank honored its obligations through the currency reforms of the following decade is not well documented.
