Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms is depicted centrally in the field, featuring the traditional shield with a royal palm, a rising sun over a sea passage between two rocky headlands, and a fasces with a Phrygian cap at the crest, all flanked by sprigs of oak and laurel tied at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1 PESO is inscribed in the lower portion of the field beneath the arms. The design is executed in crisp relief against a plain field.
