| Opmerkingen |
The Ejército Constitucionalista — Venustiano Carranza's constitutionalist forces — issued a flood of paper currency during 1913–1915 as the faction fought to unseat Victoriano Huerta's regime. These notes were essentially war scrip, printed under field conditions by regional commanders with varying degrees of authorization from Carranza's own treasury apparatus, which meant quality, backing, and acceptance varied wildly from state to state.
Counterfeiting was rampant, and Carranza himself later repudiated enormous quantities of revolutionary-era paper during the 1916 currency consolidation, leaving holders with worthless stock.
