Sint Maarten has no currency of its own — the island uses the Netherlands Antillean guilder, and before that the East Caribbean dollar in its French half. A "1 Peso" denomination issued by the Dutch side of the island has no monetary basis whatsoever, which places this piece firmly in the category of fantasy or private issue coins sold to collectors rather than circulated legal tender.
