Opmerkingen

Cuba's Foreign Exchange Certificates — the INTUR series — were a parallel currency system designed to capture hard currency from tourists and diplomats while keeping convertible funds entirely separate from the peso economy. The "D" series, distinguished here by its narrow letterform variant, circulated alongside the wider "D" type; the two were issued concurrently and are differentiated almost entirely by typography, making this one of the few cases where a single printed character drives the catalog distinction.

Státní Tiskárna Cenin in Prague handled Cuba's banknote printing through much of the socialist period, a natural partnership given Czechoslovakia's role as a key trading and technical partner within COMECON.
