| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting the royal palm tree between two fasces, a rising sun over the sea, and a Phrygian cap above the shield. A curved legend reading REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs across the upper periphery, while the face value 1 PESO appears in the lower exergue. The design follows the standard republican arms type used on Cuban coinage throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. |
