| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion shows a golden key between two headlands and the open sea, symbolizing Cuba's strategic position; the left section bears a blue-and-white striped field with a royal palm; and the right section displays a mountain landscape. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pike with a star, and flanked by sprigs of oak on the left and laurel on the right, bound at the base.
