| Beschrijving keerzijde | The central device depicts the ornate baroque portal of the historic Casa de la Moneda of Popayán, rendered in detailed architectural relief showing a double-leafed wooden door flanked by pilasters supporting an entablature with decorative stonework above. The date 1620, marking the founding of the mint, appears at the top of the design above the portal. Two olive or laurel branches flank the building on either side. The circular legend CASA DE MONEDA is inscribed along the left arc, with the commemorative dates 1756 and 1956 appearing on the right, separated by a small ornament, marking the bicentennial of the mint's royal charter. |
