The Banco Provincial de Córdoba was one of several Argentine provincial banks issuing their own paper currency before the national banking consolidation of the 1880s forced their closure or absorption. Provincial notes from this period circulated locally and were often refused or discounted heavily outside their home province — a chronic friction that partly drove the eventual push toward a unified national currency under the Banco Nacional.
PS#725 is genuinely scarce. Most surviving examples show heavy fold wear consistent with active commercial use in Córdoba's interior trade networks, and the series is underrepresented in major collections.
