Obverse description A five-pointed star vignette occupies the upper centre, flanked by the issuer's name across the top panel. Numeral face value appears in all four corners and along the lateral margins, with the denomination spelled out in full at the bottom. Below the main text panel, the place of issue and date are inscribed, reading Bucaramanga, 1 de Junio de 1873.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by an elaborate guilloche underprint, with the numeral face value in large figures on both lateral sides. A revalidation overprint, applied in conformity with Provisional Government Decree No. 6 of 6 January 1900, is struck across the face of the note and bears the signatures of the members of the Junta de Emisión.
