Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, displaying the traditional escutcheon with a key, rising sun, and royal palm, surmounted by a Phrygian cap and encircled by an oak and laurel wreath. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the face value 1 PESO appears in the lower portion. Two five-pointed stars flank the denomination on either side, serving as decorative dividers within the circular legend.
