| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a key between two rocky coastlines in the base canton, three diagonal blue and white stripes in the upper dexter, and a royal palm tree beneath a rising sun in the upper sinister. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a fasces and flanked by a wreath of oak leaves to the left and laurel to the right, tied at the base.
