Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of the Republic of the Philippines occupies the central field, featuring the eight-rayed golden sun and three five-pointed stars in the upper half, flanked by an American eagle on the left and a Castilian lion on the right in the lower quarters, all within a shield surmounted by three stars.
