| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a key between two promontories above a rising sun, a royal palm tree in the lower portion, and a Phrygian cap atop a staff at the crest. The shield is flanked by two wreath branches tied at the base. The curved legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 1 PESO is inscribed in the lower field. Two five-pointed stars flank the shield at the midline, one to each side. |
