The postwar Mexican peso series of which this note forms part reflects a deliberate policy shift: Banco de México had relied on ABNC for decades, but by the early 1950s was moving toward domestic printing capacity. This issue falls at the tail end of that dependence, before the transition to Talleres de Impresión de Estampillas y Valores took hold in subsequent series.
The Pick 46 1 Peso circulated hard. Low-denomination notes of this period absorbed daily retail traffic in a country where coinage shortages made paper pesos genuinely useful at street level. Finding a clean example is not trivial.
