Obverse description Printed in black on light paper, the obverse is framed by an ornate guilloche border with foliate engraving; at centre-top sits a Colombian national coat of arms vignette above the issuer's title 'LA REPÚBLICA DE COLOMBIA' in bold script on a ribbon banner. The body carries letterpress text in Spanish authorising acceptance of the note at five percent of customs duties at the ports of Buenaventura, Tumaco, and Cúcuta, pursuant to Decree No. 1519 of 10 December 1907 and Resolution No. 20 of 25 May 1908, with the issue date 'BOGOTÁ 2 de Junio de 1908' and a serial number printed in the upper portion. The denomination 'UN PESO' appears both within the body text and repeated at the foot of the note.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in blue-grey on plain paper and carries a simple guilloche border along all four edges. The entire central field is occupied by the inscription 'VALE ESPECIAL POR PRIMAS DE EXPORTACION' in large arched and stacked letterpress characters, with a perfin cancellation punched through the centre of the text.
