Obverse description Blue intaglio print on pink paper, centred on a allegorical vignette of the Statue of Progress holding a torch, with the Argentine coat of arms to her right. The serial number and series letter appear in red at right, with the series letter also printed in black adjacent to the rectangular watermark pane, occasionally repeated below it. Guilloche underprint patterns frame the central vignette.
Obverse lettering REPUBLICA ARGENTINA LA NACIÓN PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR Y A LA VISTA UN PESO MONEDA NACIONAL LEY DE 20 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1897 CAJA DE CONVERSION
(Translation: The Republic of Argentina. The Nation will pay to the bearer on sight One Peso National Currency. Law of 20 September 1897. Conversion Fund.)
Reverse description Green intaglio print on pink paper, with the stylised 'RA' monogram (República Argentina) at left and the Argentine coat of arms positioned to the right of the watermark pane. A fine-print repeating guilloche band carries the text 'REPUBLICA ARGENTINA' within the bordered area.
