Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse centres on an oval vignette of a classical female bust, rendered as an allegorical figure, enclosed within a guilloche border. The denomination UN PESO appears twice in the upper register, while four corner panels carry the names of the founding merchant partnerships associated with the note's origin; the main text block identifies El Banco Republicano as the issuing body, with Medellín stated as the place of issue. Handwritten series and serial number entries appear below the central text, accompanied by two manuscript signature panels designated for the Gerente and Cajero.

Beschrijving keerzijde	The reverse is printed in a single dark ink on plain paper stock within a simple rectangular border frame. A centred block of Spanish text declares the note to be the financial responsibility of the Banco del Progreso, assimilated to a bill of exchange and forming part of the amount agreed with the National Government under the contract of 7 September 1899. The design is entirely typographic with no pictorial vignettes or decorative guilloche elements.
