| Obverse description | The obverse carries the heading PROVINCIA DE MENDOZA in large serif lettering at centre top, above the title LETRAS DE TESORERIA in bold capitals. A central text panel reads LA PROVINCIA DE MENDOZA RECONOCE AL PORTADOR / UN PESO NACIONAL, with the denomination figure 1 repeated in the upper corners within guilloche frames. The note is dated Mendoza, 1 de Enero de 1893 and carries two manuscript signatures below the text block, identified by printed role titles MINISTRO DE HACIENDA and PRESIDENTE DEL CREDITO PUBLICO, with a repeating UN PESO border underprint running along the top and bottom margins. |

A rectangular text panel at the top quotes Article 7 of the Ley 28 de Noviembre de 1892, stipulating the conditions under which the treasury letters are accepted in payment of provincial taxes and debts. The entire field is enclosed within a fine geometric border typical of late nineteenth-century intaglio printing. |
