正面描述 Black on green underprint. At left, an intaglio vignette of a classical female figure in Roman armour, holding a spear and shield, set within an oval frame. At centre, a vignette of an ox-drawn cart in a rural landscape, flanked by the arms of Guatemala at upper centre. The bank title 'EL BANCO COLOMBIANO' is inscribed in bold letterpress across the centre, with the denomination 'UN PESO' below, and the obligation text 'Pagará a la vista al portador la cantidad de' above it. Series and serial number appear at upper left and right, with the place and date of issue at lower centre.

背面描述 Printed in green. The reverse is dominated by an elaborate guilloche pattern centred on a large numeral '1' within an oval medallion, surrounded by fine lathe-work borders. The bank name 'BANCO COLOMBIANO' arcs across the upper portion of the central oval, with 'EN GUATEMALA' along the lower arc. Denomination counters reading 'UNO' appear at left and right, and '$1' corner counters are repeated in each of the four corners.

备注

The Banco Colombiano was one of several private banks operating under Colombia's 1865 banking legislation, which permitted chartered institutions to issue their own notes — a system that persisted until the government moved to centralize emission in the early twentieth century. American Bank Note Company handled the engraving and printing work, as it did for the majority of Colombian private bank issues during this period, which gives this note its characteristically fine intaglio quality.

The twenty-one-year date range on the series reflects the bank's prolonged authorization to issue, not multiple distinct printings — surviving examples tend not to differ substantively by date.
