| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Nueva Granada occupies the central field, depicting a shield surmounted by a condor with spread wings. The shield bears a pomegranate fruit in the upper half and a sailing vessel over a sea in the lower half, flanked by cornucopiae on either side. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE NUEVA GRANADA runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1861 displayed in the lower exergue flanked by small dots. The coin is struck within a fine dentilated border. |
