Opmerkingen

Corrientes was one of the few Argentine provinces to maintain its own paper currency well into the national period, stubbornly resisting monetary unification long after Buenos Aires had consolidated its financial dominance. This 1852 issue predates the Argentine Confederation's more centralized banking arrangements and reflects the province's long-running insistence on fiscal autonomy.

Provincial notes from Corrientes at this period are notoriously poorly documented — survival rates are low, and many examples that do exist show heavy circulation wear consistent with use in a regional economy where metallic coin was chronically scarce. PS#1324 is among the earlier catalog entries in the series, suggesting this was issued near the start of organized provincial note production.
