Mexico's 1857 constitution was itself a radical document — separating church and state, abolishing fueros (special legal privileges for clergy and military), and triggering the devastating three-year Reform War almost immediately after passage. Commemorating its centennial in 1957 was a pointed political act under a PRI government keen to claim liberal reformist heritage. The issue circulated widely and survives easily in lower grades.
