Opmerkingen

Vandellòs was a small coastal municipality in Tarragona province, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency when coin shortages made small transactions nearly impossible. The Republican government's inability to maintain adequate coinage supply forced this improvised local monetary patchwork across the loyalist zone throughout 1937.

Imprenta Solé was a Tarragona commercial printer with no specialization in security printing — which shows. These municipal issues were produced on whatever heavy stock was available, not purpose-made banknote paper.
