Vallvert d'Urgell is a tiny municipality in the comarca of l'Urgell, Catalonia, and this 1 Peseta note belongs to the vast ecosystem of local emergency currency — moneda de paper — issued by Catalan towns during the Spanish Civil War when metallic coin effectively vanished from daily commerce after 1936.
