Vallfogona de Riucorb is a small municipality in the Conca de Barberà comarca of Catalonia, and this note belongs to the extraordinary proliferation of locally issued emergency paper money — *moneda de paper* — that swept Republican Catalonia during the Civil War. With metallic coin effectively withdrawn from circulation by hoarding and wartime disruption, municipal councils across Catalonia were authorized under the Generalitat to issue their own fractional currency. Hundreds did so.

Printed by Imprenta A. Figueres in Tàrrega — a commercial press that handled multiple municipal issues in the Urgell and Conca de Barberà area — the production quality varies predictably across the series. Turró's catalog remains the standard reference for these issues.
