| 备注 |
During the Spanish Civil War, the collapse of small-denomination coinage across Republican-held territory forced trade unions, mutual aid societies, and local businesses to issue their own emergency scrip. The Sociedad de Camareros, Hoteleros y Anexos — a hospitality workers' union in Torrevieja, a small salt-industry town on the Alicante coast — was one of hundreds of such bodies that stepped in to fill the gap. These notes functioned purely within the local economy, accepted by member establishments and theoretically redeemable, though redemption became academic as the war progressed.
Torrevieja's isolation and modest economy meant production runs were small. The Gari catalogue documents several variants for this issuer, and surviving examples in any condition are genuinely uncommon.
