Torreblanca is a small coastal municipality in Castellón, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency small-change notes when coin effectively vanished from circulation. The Federación de Abastos connection is specific — this was issued under the authority of the supply cooperative federation, not the municipal treasury proper, which is an uncommon attribution even within the chaotic diversity of 1937 Republican emergency issues.
At 54 × 40 mm on thick card stock, these were produced locally with minimal printing infrastructure. Survival rates for Castellón provincial issues are uneven, and Torreblanca pieces appear infrequently in specialized Civil War collections.
