| 备注 |
Torre de l'Espanyol is a small municipality in the Ribera d'Ebre comarca of Tarragona, and this note is one of hundreds of hyperlocal emergency issues that flooded Catalonia and the rest of the Republican zone from mid-1936 onward. The collapse of small-denomination coinage — hoarded almost immediately after the military uprising — forced town councils across Republican Spain to print their own paper money under a decree that briefly legitimized municipal issue.
Tipografia Ferrando in Reus printed for several of these small councils simultaneously, which is why notes from different towns in the area share obvious typographical family resemblances. The Turró catalogue remains the essential reference for this class of material; without it, attribution of the smaller municipal issues would be nearly impossible.
