| 正面描述 | Red underprint of horizontal ruled lines interspersed with a repeating geometric star-and-cross motif covers the entire face, printed in letterpress. Dark blue text is applied over the underprint in three registers: the issuing authority at top, the bearer clause in the centre, and the large-denomination numeral 'UNA pesseta' below, with the place and date at foot. The overall composition is simple and utilitarian, typical of Catalan Civil War municipal emergency issues. |

Torà de Riubregós is a small municipality in the comarca of Segarra, Lleida province. Like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns, it issued its own emergency fractional currency in 1936 after the outbreak of the Civil War triggered a near-total disappearance of Republican coinage from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply stranded. Municipal councils became de facto currency authorities overnight, with no standardized format and no central oversight.
The thick card stock construction was typical of emergency issues produced without access to proper banknote paper, and the small physical size reflects the note's function as small-change substitute rather than anything approaching a formal banknote. Turró's catalog of these Spanish Civil War municipals remains the definitive reference for the series.
