备注

Tahús is a tiny municipality in the Alta Ribagorça comarca of Lleida, Catalonia. This note belongs to the wave of emergency fractional currency — paper money issued by local councils, cooperatives, and municipalities across Republican Spain between 1936 and 1939 when small coin all but vanished from circulation, hoarded or melted down in the early chaos of the Civil War. These local emissions were technically authorized under a Republican decree but were wildly inconsistent in execution, which is precisely why the Turró catalog exists.

At the village level, print runs were often tiny and survival rates low — many were redeemed locally and destroyed, others simply disintegrated. The heavier card stock used here was a practical choice given the rough handling these pieces received in daily commerce.
