Opmerkingen

Riudoms is a small agricultural municipality in the Camp de Tarragona, and this 1 Peseta note is one of dozens of hyper-local emergency issues produced across Republican-held Catalonia during the Civil War after the 1936 decree authorizing municipalities to print their own fractional currency to address the near-total disappearance of coin from circulation. Imprenta De Ferrando in nearby Reus supplied several of these local councils, which is why the print quality across the Turró-catalogued Reus-area notes shares a recognizable consistency.

Survival rates for Riudoms issues are poor. The town's total population at the time was under two thousand, meaning the original print run was almost certainly small.
