| Obverse description | Printed in violet-rose on cream paper, the note is framed by a multi-layered ornamental border composed of geometric and foliate letterpress motifs, with chequerboard corner blocks and interlaced scroll bands along each edge. The issuer title 'Moneda Comercial de Rioja' appears in large bold capitals across the upper field, above a central denomination cartouche reading '1 peseta' flanked by stylised tool vignettes.
