Ribesalbes is a small municipality in Castellón province, and like dozens of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its municipal council issued emergency fractional currency when the Republican government's coin supply collapsed after 1936. These local issues — collectively catalogued under the broader "moneda local" emergency category — were typically produced with whatever printing resources the town had at hand. A rubber or ink stamp from the ayuntamiento served as the primary authentication, making the stamp condition critical to attribution and legitimacy.
The Gari reference remains incomplete for this issue, suggesting documentation is still fragmentary.
