Ribes de Freser is a small town in the Ripollès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of other Catalan municipalities during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency paper money — moneda local — when the Republican government's coin supply collapsed after 1936. The Consell Municipal had no printing infrastructure of its own; most of these small-town issues were produced by whatever commercial printer was accessible, and the official stamp served as the primary authentication, making forgery trivially easy but official oversight essentially impossible.
Turró catalogues this as #2106, placing it within the enormous documented body of Catalan wartime municipal issues. By 1939 all of it was worthless.
