| Opmerkingen |
The 1953 1 Peseta is one of the smallest-denomination notes the Banco de España issued in the postwar period, a time when the peseta's purchasing power had been so eroded by inflation and autarky that a single peseta note was barely worth printing. The Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre had been producing Spanish currency continuously since the Civil War years, absorbing the role previously shared with foreign security printers.
This listing is flagged as a replica — the originals are common enough that reproductions serve little collector purpose beyond space-filling, and genuine examples of P#144 are not scarce.
