| Rückseitenbeschreibung | A panoramic townscape vignette of Puig-reig occupies the centre of the note, with the Manufacturas Pons textile factory and its prominent chimney stack identifiable within the composition. The face value denomination and the mandatory local currency declaration are printed in dark ink in the upper and lower registers respectively, framing the townscape illustration. |

| Anmerkungen |
Puig-reig is a small textile-mill town in the Berguedà comarca of Catalonia, and this note is a product of the acute coinage shortage that paralyzed Republican Spain during the Civil War. With the Madrid government unable to supply sufficient fractional currency to Catalonia, hundreds of municipalities — Puig-reig among them — were legally authorized under a 1937 Generalitat decree to issue their own small-denomination paper. El Secretariat Català in Barcelona printed for dozens of these local authorities simultaneously, which is why the production quality is notably consistent across an otherwise chaotic body of emergency issues.
Turró catalogues this as #2041. Town-specific issues from villages of this size survive in genuinely small numbers; local circulation was brief and the notes were demonetized once the Republican monetary situation partially stabilized in late 1937.
